STUDENT AWARDS
The Ring Award
At three separate commencement exercises, December,
May and August, the alumni association sponsors a
school ring for a deserving graduating student. Applications
are submitted and the student is chosen based on
leadership, service, obstacles overcome, and recommendations
from faculty and staff. The ring is presented at
the commencement ceremony.
SCHOLARSHIPS
At the present time the Javelina Alumni Association
awards several “Legacy Scholarships” to dependents
of alumni. These dependents must meet the general
scholarship requirements as established by the university.
The scholarships are worth $750.00 annually, are
for incoming freshmen only and are non renewable.
The application process for these awards is the same
as for other scholarships offered by the university.
ALUMS ON CAMPUS
This is also a new program and is orchestrated by
the Student Alumni Board and funded by the Javelina
Alumni Association. The purpose of this program is
to bring successful alumni back to campus to share
their experiences with current students and to instill
hope and confidence that their goals and aspirations
are actually achievable.
